"The Patternists specialized in cerebral asymmetry. With grossly expanded right-brain hemispheres, they were highly intuitive, given to metaphors, parallels, and sudden cognitive leaps. Their inventive minds and quick, unpredictable genius had given them a competitive edge at first. But with these advantages had come grave weaknesses: autism, fugue states, and paranoia. Patternists grew out of control and became grotesque webs of fantasy." - Bruce Sterling Schismatrix Plus

Deer Head Painting
Just how much life intrudes on the one part of my life, painting, the products of which will probably outlast any single thing I ever produce creatively. Based on recent comments I realized I hadn't shared the small amount of progress made on this painting. So here it is. Figure, elusive and malleable with every brush stroke. The highest level of scrutiny placed on the figure because everyone has an acute judgement, memory of the the figure. There is a plan of 10 and a second painting is planned: fragile female figure with birds' head. I have the pose down. Getting a bit sad at this point realizing how long this may take with life's current demands. Looking forward to being a pure imagist.
